I've read where some people have either made new ones or refinished the originals. I plan to do the latter but I don't recall how they are secured? Are these just glued on? If so, what's the best way to remove?

Is there a thread where somebody just refinished the originals rather than making new ones? Just trying the make them look as good as they sound.

On the 2B's the end caps are glued and stapled. It is possible, with care, to pry them off. Start on the back edge.

That's what I thought. Other than spikes this will be the final "upgrade" on these for me. Now the Mrs. will be told(once again) in no uncertain terms that the speakers are not Yankee candle holders!

Yep. Mine wants to place candles on top of my 2Bs too. I like candles in the listening room but not on the gear! Maybe we should form a support group...................

The staples are quite large, so when you get the caps off, gently drive them flush with your choice of hammer. It makes removing the old glue easier. Make sure to mark which cap goes where. When you reinstall, apply new glue and hammer the staples back into the original holes.

So, there are staples that drive thru the cabinet up into the end caps?
