Any experience with Spearit Sound?

Has anyone purchased equipment from Spearit Sound? If so, could you tell me if you were happy with the transaction. Any complaints about their customer service? A competitor's sales rep made some negative remarks about them on the phone, which I thought was very unprofessional. But since the competitor is a fairly well respected company, I can't help but wonder if they have a bad rep and I just don't buy enough high-end gear to know. I'd hate to let trash talking steer me away from an otherwise solid company.

I've dealt with them a few times with no problems at all.

They have a very good reputation up here in New England - I've corresponded with them but never purchased anything, though.
It is pretty sleazy (IMO) for a sales rep to bad-mouth a competitor - the best ones just don't do that (even when it might be justified), IME.

Thanks Folks. Your comments help to put me at ease. Today I came across one negative thread in the Polk forums from years ago. But some of the other posters to that thread were positive. As for the other place, I may have to reconsider buying from them again.

If a business feels a need to make disparaging remarks about another business, it sends up a red flag to me.

I bought a Cambridge Audio CDP from them without any issues. They were pleasant to deal with.

I've bought my Jolida CDP and a CA 550 integrated amp from them. They've been great to deal with. I had a nice conversation with the owner while in the store on a visit to Boston.

I've never bought from there, but I seriously doubt Krell, Esoteric, and Conrad-Johnson are gonna let a bunch of schleps sell their gear.

Well I took the plunge and ordered a Cambridge Audio 840w from Spearit Sound through Amazon. The Spearit Sound people assured me that the warranty would remain valid even though it was "fulfilled by Amazon." I spoke to a couple of people on the phone and they seemed like nice enough folks. Now I need to start thinking of an excuse for "needing" more gear. At least I got a good price.

    Thanks again for your input.
