How noisy is your outlet?

it is unbelievable how noisy is the AC line in your apt/house. I am a diyaudio member and build my own amps for friends and family. My outlets are very noisy and I would never knew if I did not have a Wideband powerline noise analyzer, I had to use an AC filter to eliminate the RF (radio frequency) in the ac line. Too bad many people expend a lot of money in nice gears, but they just connect them to a regular surge protector.

So --- how about a recommendation for a particular surge protector or standalone filter? Every upper end surge protector at the
box stores has all those slots to plug your telephone and TV cable into, which I don't want. Seems to be too many gizmos on these
    boxes. Suggestions?

I work at best buy and we sell the monster power cleaners and they really do work. I am by no means a monster fan boy even in the least. We where given one of those powerline noise testers, it looked exactly like yours. I played around with it going to different areas of the store and plugging it in. I got readings a little higher then yours. Then I plugged it in to the conditioner and the noise was greatly reduced to almost no reading at all and the sound level dropped to where you only heard it when you held it by your ear.

I was sold and I bought one. I got a huge discount, but i wouldnt pay full price for a monster when you can get equal to or better else where. But conditioners in general do work.

I cant say I noticed a difference at my house but I am sure its doing something. At the very least the surge surpression and voltage instability fail safes work great and have saved my equipment from several brown outs within a few seconds.
