Typical Ohms/Receiver question - thanks in advance :)

I know this question has been asked, and I've read a lot about it, but I'm sure answers change based on specific speakers.

I was running two systems - a 2 channel, and a HT. I was forced to consolidate, purchased a center channel speaker to go wtih my Sony SS-M9's, will run my preamp using the HT Bypass and hook the receiver up for the HT setup. I think that, even though I am mostly a 2 channel guy, Sony SS-M9's as front speakers will be BADASS. I was able to find a SUPER RARE center channel that matches it. it is called the Sony SS-M1CN speaker. It's hard to find info - tried to scan some thigns about it but it didn't come out well. here's a website i found discussing it:

http://www.agoraquest.com/viewtopic.php?topic=39609&forum=51

It includes scans of the manuals, etc. The question is specific - I am currently running the MM9's off of my Odyssey Stratos - no problems there. I do NOT have another amp to run the other 3 speakers (Will use Polk RT800's as surround, mostly because of lack of choices), and the SS-M1CN as a center. It states that it is a 6 ohm speaker with an 89 db sensitivity. It will be pushed by a HK354. I know that running a 4 ohm speaker with an 8 ohm receiver is VERY bad (A million threads regarding LSI's as evidence). What about a 6 ohm speaker, and only one speaker. In the future I may be able to grab a cheap monoblock amp to push just the center, but now, it is impossible. If the volume is not ear-bleeding, will it be a problem?

Thanks in advance.

Also, thanks to all who provided info regarding my HT Bypass issues!

James

You should be OK as long as you keep the volume respectable. You have other amps in your sig, why not use one of those ? Just a thought, I realize the idea is to sell some things off.

All other amps = gone. Updating my sig slipped my mind :)

I previously had some 8ohm Yamaha towers, but also had a 6ohm JBL center. Cannot completely base it on the center, but I did run into clipping issues at high volume that were not there previously.

I do know the volume was loud (always during a party setting), but in my eyes, it would appear that just the single 6ohm speaker was enough to push things over the edge (as this had never happened in the years prior) This was with an H/K as well.
