Hello,
Thanks for posting. Is there an audio "output" on your TV?

On the left side of the TV there is an "Digital Audio Out". Use the optical adapter cable that comes with the TV to connect with a regular optical cable.Political Correctness'.........defined

Hello,
In looking at the owner's manual for the Panasonic Viera 50, class S30 series there doesn't appear to be any outputs for audio. If you gave us the complete model number for your unit we could check it specifically. You might need to connect the SB to another component, such as your DVD/Blu-ray player or cable set top box.

Panasonic TC-P50ST30 is the exact model ive found on amazon some converters optical to analog just ive been told that i need one that is at least dolby 5,1 so confused now lol

Hello BN,
Thanks for the additional information. The Panasonic has a digital audio output, but the SurroundBar SDA is an analogue device. The best choice would be to exchange the SB you have for either the SurroundBar 3000 or 4000 or 6000. These have digital audio input capability and should make connecting easy. You could use an external digital-to-analogue converter, but that would be diluting the advantages digital sound can offer.

ok thank you for your time
