My Sunfire sub is dying; it has the hum. I'm considering replacements and/or repair.
Looking for something similar in size due to limited space. I'm open to Definitive Technology, Martin Logan, Velodyne, REL, BIC, SVS, HSU, Sunfire, etc as long as will perform well for both music and movies. Looking at the $300 price range as that's what it will cost me to have the Sunfire repaired.
Let me know if you have something sitting around. Local would be great to avoid shipping costs, but I'll consider shipping also.

Out of curiosity. How long has that Sunfire been in service? Did you get your money's worth or did it die "early"?

im in the same boat. my sun fire amp is in the shop right now, problem is they don't make replacement parts for mine anymore.

Thank you for the links. I have attempted contact on the REL and Dynamo. The velo in gig h is too far and I think the NHT would be too large. Appreciate the help, though. -

I'm not sure if it was early. I've owned it for 3-4 years and it has seen fairly frequent use. I'm unsure of its manufacture date, though. -

Bought a Def Tech Supercube II locally. Turns out it's not my Sunfire that has the problem. I think it may be the receiver's sub out. Now I may end up turning my Wanted thread into a For Sale because I have 2 subwoofers!

How are you doing? If it was my sub that had the problem, I would consider it. However, now that I think about it, you and your Sunfire (Super Junior IIRC) are the reason I own a Sunfire! :eek:

I'll probably sell the Supercube II...but I think I'll try for local either way as shipping would be really high.
