Panasonic TC- P60S30 60in Plasma HDTV (1080p) $899.99 @bestbuy

It appears to me that PLASMA is still the king of picture quality and I am looking at getting something nice and big for my 15x14 size bedroom. I saw this 60inch Panasonic Viera plasma at best buy for $899 and was thinking it's a pretty darn good deal. Anyone have any other suggestions in this price range? or any comments about this line of TVs?

LOL..... the 60" ST (3d) version is on sale for 1200 at Costco. The model your talking about is still a rock solid deal too!

I posted the link in the Misc Deals thread.....

P.S. Panasonic is king of Plasmas. Check your local Walmart too, its looking like they phased out the entire Panasonic line of Plasma's so you might find a loner there for a low price too.......

Sears just ended their $899 deal on the 55" ST30 Series 3D plasma.
I was going to get that one but didn't make a decision in time. So this 60 inch looks like the same thing, just no 3d, and I could care less about 3d. Picture quality and size are my main concerns.

So i did a quick search and it looks like this was discussed on an avs forum here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1341781

The gist is that the "s" uses an older panel that is not quiet the same quality as the "st", so if I will be spending 899 eitehr way, then I will go with the 55inch ST. I just need them to go on sale again at Sears. I'm sure it won't take too long.

The ONLY reason I am looking at the 3D TV's (ST, GT) is I have been told the anti-glare coating is better on them, and they have a better 2D picture than their 2D (S series) counterparts.

For me the anti-glare coating is the key.

I'm with you bud, I'll take a 55in vs a 60in at the same price if the screen and some other features are better. Now i just have to be patient... hope it doesn't take too long....

I am also considering buying the 55ST and the cheapest I have found it was $999 at Target. Was the Sears price on-line or at the store? The other thing to consider is the Return Policy for whichever store you buy it from. It has been well documented that there are some issues with the ST line that may require you to exchange or return the tv. Good luck and keep us posted.

Keep checking with Sears, I picked up my 3D ST65" for $1199...I just happened to be in the right store at the right time for that deal. And the picture is stunning!!! I never thought I'd give a rats **** about 3D but it sure is a fun experience & my family really enjoys it. Keep your eyes open you'll find a killer deal for sure.

You know that either sears or best buy will discount something again soon. Just have to have patience.
