I sold my Onkyo TX-NR808 to a friend and bit the bullet on a Denon 4311ci! Pretty excited. I am finishing my basement next weekend and my HT will finally be more than a corner with some couches in my basement and I can finally do my gear some justice....

I have been waffling back and forth between the Marantz AV7005 and the Denon 4311ci, but landed on the 4311ci since I can run it with its internal amps later if I wanted to, and it has Audyssey XT32 instead of just XT. It also helped that I found a HECK of a deal on one!

Very excited obviously, especially for the Audyssey XT32. I will be running all external Parasound amplification, just like I was with the Onkyo. I am running dual Subs and the Audyssey XT in the Onkyo, for lack of a better term, SUCKED in my room!

Anyone else here running the 4311ci? Any caveats I should look out for? It has already been updated for AirPlay and is running the most recent firmware.

I owned a Denon AVR-2808ci and a Denon AVR-4810ci and never had any issue with them. They are solid performers as audio video processors. I've just upgraded to an Integra DHC-80.3 just because I want to try newer features.
Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:
    Integra DHC-80.3 / Oppo BDP-105 / DirecTV HR24 DVR /APC S15blk PC-UPS

    Bedroom:
    Usher Dancer Mini 2 Diamond DMD's / Logitech SB Touch / W4S STP-SE / W4S DAC-2 / W4S ST-1000 / Samsung 52" LN52B750

It just showed up! Very excited to get it out and setup... I went with the 4311ci because of the features it offered at the price point it is at. I honestly was never impressed with systems that had big subs driven with the Pioneer receivers. Not saying they aren't amazing receivers, the but the 4311ci, with the Audyssey XT32, has a LOT more control over the subs and can run EQ 2 separate subs, which I will have. MCACC just doesn't cut it for me in my room. I can also buy the pro setup kit if I want and run that on my system as well. In the end, I will probably be running 2 or 3 18" TC Sounds subs... I need something that can help tame the bass and clean up any nodes in the room.

I have already started reading through batpigs site! Lots of info there!

I thought hard about the Integra DHC-80.3, but I couldn't find a price or anyone with one for sale. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid?

The Pioneer Elite receivers don't eq the sub but you can buy an external sub eq that'll do what the Denon receiver can.

+1 on this, Velodyne SMS- 1. Pioneer is awesome, but not for everyone like you said. Congrats on the Denon, and please share pics of the setup.

I will post some pics in a couple weeks as I getting to finish my basement :D My theater has just been in the corner of my basement for years and I am finally going to my gear some justice!

I thought about the external sub eq, and I normally would do something like that, but I have heard SO many good things about the XT32, that I simply had to try it! I figure if I don't like it, I can easily sell it for what I bought it for and not be in the hole :D

I am getting ready to unbox it here in a few minutes!

Well... good news and bad news. The GUI wasn't working correctly in all the modes. Net/USB in particular had no OSD at all! So... bad news, I have to send it back to the seller. Who offered me a full refund on the purchase price, shipping, and the return shipping, so good news. But also, more good news, I found a brand new 4311ci with 3 year warranty from an authorized dealer for $25 more than I paid for the used one! It will be here tomorrow so I get to play with it for real!
