maybe getting evos

Hi guys,
As you so eloquently told me my present Infinty speakers are at best entry level and "party speakers " ala Cerwin Vegas.Well they were what I could afford at the time and being pro refoamed I jumped on them.Time passes and as you all know most are not wholey satisfied w/ what you or I have or that's the perception that I got so I went to a hi -end audio store to see whats new or even remotely affordable. The first thing that I noticed was a pair of Wharfdale EVO-30S in satin black w/ the kevlar 6.5 drivers.Since they are used and were a trade in the guy wants to unload them for $300 cash.I've done the usually research on reviews and not one had a bad thing to say about these speakers. So w/ my Adcom gfa555 would these rate ,or should I pass, also I did not hear them at all they were just lined up against a wall.

    Nice speaker, but I would listen to them to make sure all the drivers are working and the sound is pleasing to you. Ask the guy to hook them up or bring a receiver with you.

    before spending $300 on the older Wharfedale evos, I would look at Music Direct as they are clearancing out the Evo 2 series, if you're ok with paying a little more for brand new speakers
