SurroundBar 50 and F/X wireless setup with 7.2 receiver?

My old 5.1 Onkyo receiver recently took a dump so I purchased a new 7.2 Onkyo and request some advice on how to get the best sound out of my setup:

Polk F/X Wireless
Infinity BU-1 sub-woofer (next item to be replaced, looking at Polk PSW-111 and Velo VX-11...any recommendations here would be appreciated.)
I currently have the SurroundBar 50 connected to the FL, C, FR, SL, SR terminals to corresponding terminals on the receiver. The F/X wireless is connected to the SL, SR, SBL, and SBR pre-outs via RCA. Sub is connected pre-out as well.
I can't run the Audysey calibration for obvious reasons, so my question is should I eliminate the surround speakers on the SurroundBar 50 and just have it sent to the F/X unit? Also, would connecting the SL and SR channels on the SurroundBar 50 to the FWR and FWL of the receiver have a negative effect. I know that wides and highs on a 7.2 should have a minimum distance from the Front channels....I'm probably reaching here, just curious?
Note: My room is unconventional with valted ceilings and is open to the kitchen and hallway. The SurroundBar and TV sit in a corner facing the opposite corner in a diamond type pattern, so it's not ideal. I have the F/X in this opposite corner behind the recliner with the couch to it's right. Like I said, it's not ideal, but it is what I have to work with. Also I'm not looking to upgrade speakers at this time as it's a rental and we are buying a home later this year, so I can re-address the issue then when I know what I'm working with. As for now any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

After some trial and error, I have the set-up and sound to my liking. I kept the original connections and tweaked the receiver settings. I still would like some input on which of the two subwoofers (PSW-111 or Velodyne VX-11) to purchase. I found both for the same price, so which one would be a better fit. Also keep in mind that I may upgrade from the surroundbar and f/x to a true surround system in the future. Thanks for any input.
