Should I get Lsi9?

My current setup is RTIA9/CSiA6/RTi4/Pio vsx-1325(vsx-33 clone).

RTIA9 is just a month old. Now when I see good prices for Lsi9, I am wondering If I should go for Lsi line. How much difference would I hear ?

    I have the same setup as yours and received the Lsi9 recently. If I knew the result before buying the lsi9, I wouldn't buy it, rather invest a little more into different brand. But the price is very low, easily resell it back on CL for nearly what I paid. Plus, the hassle/cost to ship it back. I am keeping it.

    The sound itself is different. However, you must have proper 4 ohm amplification to drive them, and I do not think your Pioneer can do that without a lot of distortion or overheat at high volumes. And worst, do not pair 4 ohms speakers with 8 ohm speakers at the same time, as your receiver won't like that.

    You know...really!?! They haven't broken in yet, you don't have them set up anywhere near how they are suppose to be and yet you've already judged them to be sub-par.

    It appears you run an HT rig. Stay with what you have, get an amp to properly power those RTi A9's and you'll see what they are truly capable of.

    I totally agree with him. try to add a high current, 200+ WPC amp to your A9 and you will be happy. A9 is very musical, surprisingly.

    Do you have a sub? If so, maybe try a pair of 7's? That would let you know if you like the sound of the 7's at a lower cost and you could run them at moderate levels with your AVR.

    Grabbing the 9's could start you down a slippery slope that if you aren't carful, could cost you thousands of dollars. They are that good, you just have to pair them with quality equipment to get their best, and I'm not just referring to power either, a good pre-amp, a quality source, along with proper amplification will do them up right. My advice, from someone who was exactly where you are now 3 years ago, if you can get them for a really good price, they could be your first building block towards a solid 2 channel system, if that is your ultimate goal. Just my 2 cents...

    I don't have a sub coz my A9s have a very good bass. I was kinda curious about vifa tweeters as I never had an opportunity to hear them. But I am not sure if my AVR would handle 4ohm load.

    In order to be happy with your upgrade from one speaker to another you have to know what your current speaker is lacking and that your next speaker will fill that void. The OP doesn't seem to have a real reason for wanting to change his setup, other than "Lsi's are on SALE!", and in my eye's, that's not reason enough to change. We all know that "Better" is very subjective.

    Figure out what you are missing, then you can check into what will get you there... :wink:

    I agree, but unless I hear a pair of LSis, I wouldn't know what I am missing. and I hear everybody saying LSis are better speakers and with these prices, it is now or never..!!

    Transitioning from towers to bookshelves can be quite a change; good or bad largely depends on what you're after. Bookshelves of course have less bass output, but sometimes the quality of the bass is more natural. I agree completely with Jesse, stick with what you have, while there are differences, they're not monumental nor earth shattering. Lsi's really need high quality amplification to truly appreciate.
