shm VS hqcd VS Blue Spec

I am doing some reading on HQCD. I do own some SHM-CD and to me there is a difference in sound vs the original cd's. So I was looking for some new CD's and I came across some that are in HQCD. All look like they are using the same polycarbonate plastic, but might just be 3 different owners of the pattent? SHM being Jvc Blue being Sony, and not sure who has HQCD.
Do you think they are all basically the same? Anyone heard all 3 formats? All 3 are played on a regular cd player.

sure your not mixing apples and oranges? I always thought XRCD was JVC,but what ever the polycarbonate I'm sure is the same on all but maybe SHM-CD from what i understand SHM is super hard material. The XRCD and HDCD were applications to extend the range of CD recordings when SACD was in it's beginnings to try and compete with SACD. Blu-ray I believe uses the same poly material it's just the pits embedded on the readable layer are super small and needs a very fine laser to grab that data. The HDCD also needs the player to have the ability to see that info on the CD to be able to read it. Kind of like the old cassette's when all would play on the deck but if you had the chrome oxide vs metal vs ferric-oxide switch you could take advantage of that tape you are playing.
Then again maybe I'm missing the question completely -
