I thought my Hk3490,GFA555 and Monitor 70's sounded pretty good even though the sound could get a bit harsh at times. This is mainly due to the fact that my house is all hardwood and ceramic tile.Only the bedrooms are carpeted.

Anyways, my intentions were to pick up a piece at a time until I had everything and then hook it all up at once.Well Super Bowl Sunday arrives and I get bored and decide to hook everything up even though my new speakers aren't here yet.

Pre-GFP750 -WOW!!!!! Much, much cleaner sounding.Less harsh, everything sounds tighter and more defined. It just seems to flow naturally while listening to CD's. My interest in the Bowl game was soon lost and I spent my night rediscovering my favorite CD's

Tuner-CA Azur 650T- Disappointing !! The HK kicks it's butt in every thing I want it for, which is mainly listening to XM/Sirius.The 650T just sounds to compressed compared to the HK.The display on the 650T is pretty much worthless,it's to small to be readable unless your right on top of it.

Even though I am disappointed in the tuner, the pre and cdp combo more than make up for it.I'm jammin and don't even have my new speakers yet.

Speakers- Monday the new LSi15's arrive.
As impressed as I was with the new pre and cdp playing through the 70's it's hard to beleive it could get any better. But it did.A lot better.
Cleaner, smoother, tighter, and much more detailed. The amount of bass is unbelievable.

The next thing (probably should have been the first thing) is do something for the accoustics in this echo chamber.

Thanks for reading.

I just added a GFP-750 to the system as well, that thing is awesome ain't it!?

I wonder how the LSi's compare to the Monitor line up. I'm betting they blow them out of the water.

Yeah,it is awesome.I didn't realize that seperates would make such a big difference in the quality of music.

There is no comparison between the two speaker lines. One is a Chevette the other is a Corvette.

You got a nice little system started there, I feel room treatments are a must for you and would do you a great deal more then another piece of gear right now, also look into taking vibration away from your gear especially the CDP some vibra pads or spikes will make a world of difference as well. The little things one can do to take even an average system to another level is incredible..

IMO once one has a nice little system going I believe one should take care of the room and vibrations in the rack first then move on up the ladder to upgrading gear. I truly believe one will get the most out of the gear with room treatments and vibration control..
