I've been eyeing this as my new prepro...

I've been looking for awhile now & I've taken a look at offerings (both new & used) from Anthem, Classe, Arcam, Cary Audio, Sherbourn, Krell, Integra & a few others. But I just keep going back to the NAD. My AVR's have always been NAD & I really like their performance. The NAD AVR's that I've had were simply superb in my combo HT/2 channel system. Now with the addition of the Rotel RMB-1095 multi channel amp my sights are on a pure prepro as my next move. I"ve not heard the M15 HD as of yet but if it's pure NAD pedigree I'm sure it will take things up a notch or two. Anyone here had ears on one yet? The reviews are off the charts good. Any other suggestions are certainly welcome.

I like the Marantz pre/pro. I've had the chance to hear it in a couple of different systems and really liked it and the feature/function set it has.

The Classe units are very nice...the SSP300 is identical to the SSP600 minus the balanced inputs. I'm staying away from Cary. My dealer actually just dropped the line, too many issues with units needing repair & shotty CS support. And he did a nice business with Cary but it just became a headache. Customers get pissed when dropping that much coin on stuff that fails.

Didn't realize Cary had so many issues. I know when they do work, they sound pretty frickin' good though.

Depending on your budget, Halcro maybe worth a spin, but pricey even used.

You know, at this point. Some of the "better" known names in Audio like Cary or Classe...really don't have the R&D invested in AVRs and AVR pre/pros to keep up with the mainstream manufacturers whose bread and butter are AVRs like Pioneer, Onkyo, etc. On the other hand I suspect the NAD is pretty good. They've had the "time" to put that unit together. Years after Onkyo and Pioneer first offered Tru-HD Audio and HDMI on AVRs (that was quite a number of years back now). The Audio boys and girls above took quite some time to even introduce their "first" HDMI receiver?

Cary and Classe. Stick to two channel or multi-channel amplification and you're good. IMO.

Check out Marantz AV-7005. I have AV-8003 (older model), been very happy with it.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

+1, add me to the list of others looking at Marantz prepros. I thought by now Pioneer Elite would have offered up a Ht prepro. Sorry to hear about Cary having the problems, have always heard positive feedback on their equipment.
