No sound with RTi A7 with Denon 4810 ci

I am not getting any sond from my speakers at all in fact my receiver has auto setup and doesnt even detect the speakers. I am using 12g wire and not bi wire or bi amping and I cant figure out anything. What is up? Any suggestions

HDMI but even with the auto setup it doesnt detect the speakers. The speakers are connected with 12g monster cable. I get sound through the tv speakers with it connected through the receiver but the speakers only click when I. Make adjustments

You have to turn off the TV speakers using the TV menu, then turn on the external speakers (might say AVR) using the TV menu.

Where do you have the speaker cables connected on the receiver ? Also for the speakers to work with the TV you have to set up the inputs on the receiver. Did you set all the inputs up ? Read the manual ?

I did turn off the speakers on the tv it actually does it itself. I assigned all the correct inputs to the HDMI inputs for the devices even then no sound. I reset the microprocessor and updated the firmware. I have the speakers on the front speaker connection and set it up free and made it so that only the front speakers were used still no sound. I then tried zone 2 and 3 and then made it so it seemed like I. Had five speakers but the audasy auto setup mike said that there were no speakers every time. Ive spent two days reading and troubleshooting with no results

Try just 2 channel stereo on the receiver ? Put in a cd and make sure you have the receiver set on cd. Maybe you blew a fuse when switching things around ? Did you have everything turned off when you switched speakers ?

Nothing was switched. The tv itself has built in speakers. Its a new Sony bravia 3d wi fi. The blu ray, dvr and tv are running through it and everything is fine. I tried two channel and streamed music through the receiver itself and via the network and nothing.

Wait....you get sound from the bdp, dvr, and TV ? From the speakers ?

Do you have all those devices hooked up to the receiver first ....then hdmi out to the tv ?

Try tossing in a cd on the bdp, turning the input on the receiver to bdp, and see what happens.

Last resort is a hard reset of the receiver.

No i get sound through the tv. Ive tried the blu ray ipod everything but when i switch the tv to amp there is no sound on all sources. They all run through the receiver but the speakers wont play. When i make adjustments i can hear the external speakers click but no other sound. I hard reset the receiver three times and get the same results. I even bought new speaker wire and still nothing. I hooked it up bi wire and that didnt work either. Everything runs through HDMI to the receiver and one back to the tv for the gui. For some reason none of the speaker jacks work

is there a setting in your reciever weather or not to pass sound on to the tv?

Yes i can pass sound to the tv fine but it disables the external speakers

well your reciever might by passing the audio on to the tv wich could be why your not getting any sound out of your RTI A7's. Dissabling the speakers in the tv doesnt really have any affect on what the Denon AVR is set or trying to do.

I think it is a problem with the speaker posts. I could disconnect the hdmi to the tv but it's only a monitor out for the GUI. I'm thinking of returning it and going with onto instead

Onkyo but I did set the inputs and audio correctly and tried the audyssy set up and it said there was no speakers

How about hooking up some other speaker you may have just to see if it's the receiver or the speakers. I'm guessing the receiver. Try setting things up manually, forget audessy. See if just the tuner works, play a radio station.

You may have to pop the top and see if a fuse is blown.

Yeah I. Dont have any other speakers but I. Just bought it so instead of fixing it I. Think its going back. I found a comparable if not better receiver with onkyo that has more wattage and thx plus so I. Think its history
