Shot my first Music Video!

I got the call from a client who wanted to shoot a music video to promote his band. I literally had no experience shooting anything of the sort but was excited to take the project on. The client didn't have a huge budget to work with so we tried to come up with an idea that would take 1 day to shoot with the least amount of gear rental possible.

Here's what we came up with. Would love to hear your thoughts! If I had a chance to do it again, I would have shot a lot more narrative type pieces as opposed to performance pieces but I had to edit with what we had. I think we did okay for the budget we were on. Hopefully this will attract more clients looking for music videos because they are insanely fun to concept and produce.

That is one great video, the light , color saturation, cutting and the awesome camera work or is it cinematography ? What ever it is I thought it was great, very professional yet artistic. I really think you have a talent that should be pursued further

Quite a stunning job! Professional in every aspect. This is proof that you don't need huge budgets to produce stunning results.

Just curious, what kind of video camera did you use? Nikon just announced their new D800 DSLR, that is geared toward video professionals. The video quality on it is pretty amazing!
    No excuses!

I like the tune, it's always a plus for me to be able to make out the lyrics of any song. Excellent job, I think both you and this band have a lot of talent.

    Really Cool!

You get an A for a great job:
    - good story board
    - good scene selection and transitions
    - good lighting
    - nice mix of closeups
    - sound quality was spot on
    - mixed in good gestures from performers (plane landing, car overheating, etc.)

The only thing you could control that I didn't get was the band leaving (2:49 to 2:54) and then reappearing and leaving again.

Even more of a testament to your skill level was the song your customer chose was way too long (not very dynamic and not my cup of tea), but you still made it happen!

    I'm impressed.

The band is actually called "Fandango" lead by Bob Woldin the singer. Here is their website www.fandango1.webs.com
