Any you guys watch ? I know...I know, tea, teapots, and now cooking. My man card is in jeapardy.

I like Symon's Suppers, Lydia's show, Dinner,Drive-ins and Dives, Iron chef. Mario Batalli is great too, somewhat of a dick but the boy can cook. Giada....the only good thing I can say about her is you watch that show for her rack, not her cooking. I saw her once use riccota cheese from a store bought container making an Italian dish and I almost threw up in my mouth. That was it for me. Bobby Flay is just ok to me. I do enjoy that guy on BBQ university, can't remember his name. Any favorites ?

Food has always been a part of family life for me, great memories. I'm sure the same goes for alot of you guys too. I like to carry on traditions, gather the family, cook, make it interactive, brings everyone closer. Makes you feel good knowing everyone looks forward to Sunday suppers. Anyway, alway looking to expand my horizons, new recipes or shows to catch. Whats cookin' in your neck of the woods ?

I like a lot of the cooking shows too.. being since how i'm a real foodie... and I do a lot of cooking myself.. i can really identify with some of the chefs. I in no way
consider myself in their league.. but I can hold my own in the kitchen.
food bring people together. no matter when people get together for any reason.... food is almost always involved. it's a social thing.. and puts people in a good moood. I like the Dinner Impossible show.... and on occasion i'll watch Hell's Kitchen too.

I like Triple D, Anthony Bourdain, and Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.
    I really like Anthony Bourdain.
The man has been through the Sh$t in his life.
It was all he could do not to do drugs when he was in Amsterdam.
Not sure he didn't behind the scenes.
His show is pretty interesting, with "world travel" being an understatement.
I think he may have been everywhere in his life span chasing food/culture.
Not many of us can say that.

Whats next Tony gardening shows? Hell we all love food and yes some shows are very interesting.

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    Isn't gardening related to cooking?

Most of these type shows are now on the same plain as the, so called "reality" shows. The downfall started with Emeril Live and continues today. Just my opinion nothing more.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Maybe a few, not representable of them all as a whole. You watch shows for different reasons. Iron chef for example, I watch for the way those chefs blend flavors.

Pep, gardening ?? Don't give me any idea's bro. Some of you already have me cross dressing in your wicked imagination. Though I did lose a bet to the wife last football season. I was suppose to wear her thongs for a day, she has yet to collect.

I've enjoyed The Primal Grill with Steven Raichlen. I've caught the show a few times on PBS and ended up buying his book "How to Grill". Last summer was great with that book. Raichlen will grill ANYTHING! I can't wait for this summer to get here so I can start grilling!

Dude, I grill year round. My grill stays uncovered, steaks, ribs, I don't care if there's 2 ft of snow outside. Don't let Chicago weather keep you from grilling. I do love that guys show btw, techniques from all over. Except I'm always hungry after watching him.

Have a friend from Brazil, they grill everything known to man. You guys ever tried grilled banana's ? Awesome.

That's it! I'm grilling tonight! Thanks for the inspiration tonyb!

How do you grill bananas? I'm guessing you need to leave the peel on right?

Yeah...just toss it on,maybe 5 minutes each side, longer is ok too. Outside will get brown, but the inside will be sweet as can be. Also good if you make banana bread, grill them first. Another favorite is banana peppers stuffed with cheese, like a jack cheese, wrap in foil and toss on the grill.

    Here's another easy one.
Buy some mozzarella cheese in a roll, like a log. Cut in half inch thick slices and wrap one slice of prosciutto around it and toss on the grill. Yum.

Take a clove of garlic and brush over some sliced Italian bread, brush again with some melted butter and grill, spread some goat cheese on it when it comes off. Easy and good.

I've really gotten into a lot more of the "reality" based cooking shows more than the giada/30 minute meals/etc shows. Love me some Chopped, Iron Chef, **** Kitchen and Worst Cooks In America.

Next Food Network Star got the axe from me - too focused on the camera aspect of it, rather than the cooking itself.

I love Giada, no matter where she gets her ricotta cheese from. The old show was better though, especially for those of us who are fond of cleavage.

Iron Chef is great too, I especially love the original Japanese version. It's really amazing how talented some people are. You think you're a good cook untill you watch those guys . . wow.

We watch a handful of them as well but between Giada's ?ber exaggerated fake smile and the constant show host over pronunciation of words, it gets on my nerves sometimes. For example, Giada will speak perfect inflection English for twenty minutes then the word Parmesan or Ricotta comes up and she turns Italian for one second. Or the oh so bullshite reaction to something tasted, yet it has in reality, not even had a chance to hit the back of their mouth. Etc Etc. Annoying-ga.

Could Paula Deen's accent be more flagrantly buulcrap? I've heard her speak normal on a couple interviews and she really cranks up that ad nauseum southern twang for her show. Ouch.

And how is everything, seriously everything....the best thing they've ever tasted, or wow, that's amazing. Guy Fiery is the only one I've seen actually be honest with his face and not immediately love every dish made for him. Thank goodness Sandra makes a cocktail at every meal cuz I need it to get thru these shows.

i foresee someone making some unclever joke about pie forthcoming...

But I like Top Chef. It's one of the only TV shows I watch. The other being a local chicago show on PBS called Check, Please where 3 people suggest a restaurant they each vist the others suggestions then come on to the show and review their experience. I like it.

When I was a young kid, I used to watch the frugal gourmet. Many people thought I was pretty weird. Turns out they were right.

I REALLY enjoy cooking shows. Some of my favorites chefs/cooks are Paula Deen, Anne Burrell, Jacques Pepin, Lydia Bastianich, Alton Brown, Giada Delaurentis, Pat and Gina Neely, Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Leah Chase, and the list goes and on and on. With Guy Fieri, I like "Guy's Big Bite", but my favorite show of his is "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" because of the wide variety of foods that are cooked on the show. Some of my favorite shows are the ones that the chefs/cooks listed above are on, along with "America's Test Kitchen", "Cook's Country", "Iron Chef America",and "Man vs. Food".
As far as my own personal preferences are concerned, I like just about any traditional kinds of foods, except for beets and critters like raccoon, opossum, armadillo, turtle, etc. I really enjoy Christmas and Thanksgiving because that's when I really have fun in the kitchen. Holiday meals are a lot of work, but, ooh boy, I love the leftovers, especially the turkey, which I use to make sandwiches.
Writing about food has made me hungry. As a matter of fact, I think I'll go raid the kitchen now!!

Triple D is my favorite. I watch a lot on the Food Network and Cooking channel. I love to cook and I love to eat good food. I wish Food Network was like it was in the old days when it first hit the air. Not a lot of cooking going on there now compared to the early days. It's more reality cooking contests and shows about food. The Cooking Channel makes up for it though since it's closer to what the original Food Network concept was.
