I was browsing E-bay and saw the speakers in the address I have copied here.

These are going higher than i have normally seen this model go for. Is this related to the label the speaker specialist somehow. If so what does the speaker specialist indicate. If not, is there any other reason these would be bringing higher bids than normal?

Ok. as I read on further in the forum i saw the thread "Am I missing something" which appears to be about the same pair of speakers.
I guess i am still a little curious about the speaker specialist thing. is that some sort of polk marketing thing? If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Supply and demand and someone who really wants them. That is a fair price. Don't forget we tend to get/give much better deals here on CP than you can typically get out "there". Prices are all over the place on Ebay on any given day.
I have bought tubes for $60/pr that typcially sell for well over $150. Prices are crazy on Ebay when you have a couple buyers who will pay top dollar for an item one day and no buyers for the same item the next day.

P.s. The Speaker Specialist's thing is an older Polk advertising slogan, nothing more, nothing less."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
