I recently picked one up, with no power cord. Anyone know if new cords are compatible?
Thanks in advance, Steve

I don't know fo' sho' but I wouldn't be surprised if it used the standard "figure 8" shaped power cord used by Matsushita on many pieces of consumer electronics for many years. These are readily available from various resources - even Radio Shack may still carry them - not sure about that.
You can usually get them cheap(ly) from http://www.allelectronics.com/
EDIT: yeah... this guy... http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/LCAC-390/6-2-COND.-UNIVERSAL-POWER-CORD-NON-POLARIZED/1.html
My sincere & humble apologies if this advice is completely off-base! -
Thanks for the reply...it doesn't appear to be figure 8 shaped, but it's probably worth a shot.McCormack DNA-1 Amp, Parasound Halo P5 Pre Amp, Denon DVD 2900 CD player, Adcom GDA 700 DAC, VPI Traveler TT with Denon 103R cartridge, Lounge Audio MKiii phono pre and Copla SUT, Polk SDA SRS 3.1 TL speakers, Tributaries series 8 IC's and speaker cable.

There was a polarized version that had the same "form factor" except one side was "squared off" (flat instead of rounded). The nonpolarized one will fit into those.
The small oval connectors weren't uncommon, either. These were also often used on small appliances such as electric razors.
The SL-J2 is "new" enough (relatively speaking) that it might use some other, bizarre proprietary connector... I just don't know (so I'll step aside now and let others weigh in who might actually have experience with that particular tt).

do you have a pic of the back where the plug is? I have a few different types that might fit from boomboxes.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Thanks for the help, RS had an oval connecter that fit perfect. A bit of an odd turntable, but seems to work well.McCormack DNA-1 Amp, Parasound Halo P5 Pre Amp, Denon DVD 2900 CD player, Adcom GDA 700 DAC, VPI Traveler TT with Denon 103R cartridge, Lounge Audio MKiii phono pre and Copla SUT, Polk SDA SRS 3.1 TL speakers, Tributaries series 8 IC's and speaker cable. -

Thanks for the offer. I tried the one BB cord I had, but due to the one flat side, it wouldn't fit. I really need to go to the test forum to learn how to post pictures.McCormack DNA-1 Amp, Parasound Halo P5 Pre Amp, Denon DVD 2900 CD player, Adcom GDA 700 DAC, VPI Traveler TT with Denon 103R cartridge, Lounge Audio MKiii phono pre and Copla SUT, Polk SDA SRS 3.1 TL speakers, Tributaries series 8 IC's and speaker cable. -
If you scroll down this article lists the different types and shows a rendering of each.
