Just picked up a free Boston Acoustics Cr400 subwoofer with some problems.

It makes weird pop noises when I turn it on and it scares me that it will catch fire... I've had a laptop catch on fire while on my lap and now I'm paranoid about these types of things. I took a video. I believe it to be the amp that is causing the problems. Is this subwoofer worth fixing or should I trash it? Considering you can see my Elemental Design A2-300 right underneath of the Cr400.
