SR6500 and SR5250 crossover points

According to Crutchfield SR passive xovers are set for 3,100Hz be it 6500 or 5250.
I can't find it but i defiantly remember someone stating xover points for both and they were different even thou tweeter is the same.
In the matter of fact i think i remember there was actually a gap between what woofer and what tweeter plays... Am i thinking of something else here?

What are passive SR xover's points? And what is the lowest and ideal lowest points for the tweeter if it was used in active set-up?

The crossover point for the 6500 is 3.1KHz and 4KHz for the 5250's.

Now this doesnt mean thats the cutoff frequency. I know the actual cutoff frequencies for the 6500 are something like 6KHz for the tweeter and 2KHz for the mid, I think. The best cutoff frequency I found for both of them is 4KHz on each. Thats been in 3 different cars now, 4KHz always seems to work best.

I wish Polk would issue a new SR line and expand it to include 3 and 4 inch wideband models. The 3 or 4 could extend higher to 5 or 6.3 kHz that way.

    Hey!

I am also own pair of SR6500 kit.. :) I run tweeter (Pioneer ODR RS) for the moment and SR6500 mids top of dashboard!

Someone here have experience some of best cutoff frequency and slope in active setup? Run each 2 channel Sony XES-M50 amps to them.
Have not try SR tweeter yet.

The SR 6500 is good till about 5khz on a steep slope. Where you cross, depends on how low your tweeters can play w/o getting harsh. I run the 6500 with the scan tweets and I have them crossed @ 3khz.

    ODR tweeter run from 5.03KHz / 12db slope (A-pillar)

    SR6500 run from 78Hz / 36db slope to 6.34KHz / 24db slope

Headunit/dsp XES-Z50 have some limited some of crossover point!

Ive ran the SR's in 3 different cars now and in all kinds of configurations and I always seem to land on 4KHz @ 24db/oct cutoff for both mid and tweet. If its the same no matter what car theyre in or what configuration theyre in, theres gotta be something to that.
