Hey Guys! It has been a couple months but I am hoping to be back around more! Lots of of life happening the past few months, including changing jobs and about a million other things. Anyways, I am glad to be back and I can't wait to dig back in!
I have had little progress on most of my projects. My Dual TC Sounds build for my HT is half done, and I switched out the LMS Ultra in my LR to a Pro 5100 I like so much more! Anyways, its good to be back! Look forward to having plenty of great discussions!

Welcome back! What do you like better about the 5100?

The 5100, for lack of a better term, is a much faster driver and hits a lot harder above 40 Hz or so than the Ultra 5400. The 5400 plays lower for sure, but 15 Hz is good enough for me

And much more efficient. Which amp are you running?

Welcome back!
Hey, real quick, do you think the HCA-3500 is noticeably better sounding than the HCA-2200mkii? If so, how? You can keep it short and sweet; I don't need a book.
Thanks, cheers,

Welcome back Don! Thanks again for the cables. Got them running in my system as we speak .
Post some pics of the progress. Last time I saw your HT it was full of aquariums lol....."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Sadly my home theater still has a bunch of crap in it But over the next 2 months I am going to be finishing half of my basement and moving the entire theater space. I am pretty excited about it!Living Room: Adcom GFP-750 (Upgraded), Squeezebox Touch, Oppo BDP-83, Pioneer DV-79AVi, Parasound HCA-3500 (Upgraded), SDA SRS 2 P/B (Gimpod, Sonicaps, & Mills)

Hey Ben!
The 3500 just has more room to breath when you are pushing bigger harder to drive speakers. The 3500 definitely has a special sound, but so does the 2200 II (The Mark II is KEY). The 2200 II was a very special amp for Parasound and is a favorite among Parasound fans. My 3500 was a little harsh on the high end from the factory, but with the upgrade it is just smooth as butter! If I had to choose between a non upgraded 3500 and a 2200 II, I would probably pick a 2200 II. Now keep in mind, that was MY 3500. I don't know if all 3500s are that way. Honestly, either amp is amazing, but the 2200 II is typically more readily available and can be had for about half the price of the 3500.
I hope that wasn't too much of a book

MUCH more efficient But honestly, I don't think I have pushed it to its max! With the LMS 5400 Ultra, I was able to peak out the amp several times.
One other reason I switched to the 5100 was that it has dual 2 ohm voice coils. My custom TC Sounds drivers have dual 1 ohm and I wanted to present a 4 ohm load to the amp with a mono sub. I am driving this sub with a Crown XTi 4000. It pushes it with room to spare. I had it on a Crown CE 4000 but I am moving the CE 4000 to my home theater to drive the dual custom drivers in my HT. The Class I is amazing when pushing hard to drive loads and the CE 4000 is the only amp outside of the ITech amps that has Class I.
