/so i got a line on a pair of ML Quest's and im playing with the idea of picking them up.

the asking price is $450...im pretty sure there is some room in there cause the guy is very motivated to get rid of them.

appearently they are in great condition and about 4-5 years old. i dont have the ideal placement for them and if i did buy them i would vampire the rig i use for my sda2's to run them. also due to height limitations in my living room, they would be placed in my bedroom rig...

so my question for the seasoned veterans around here is this:

1) good price? cause i really dont want to spend more than $350 right now regardless of the value.
2) if i run my rotel 120wpc amp with a marantz receiver as my pre, would it be sufficient or would it just be stupid?
3) considering i do the majority of my listening in my living room, would this just be a waste putting it in my secondary rig?

thanks in advance

A power amp running 125watts will be good enough. Alot of folks say you need tons of power to run the logans but this is misunderstood by many regarding Logans. Even with the volume down very low you can hear every single little detail as they are the most transparent speaker tech out there. One thing that sucks is that if your using the marantz your going to hear all its flaws but if you go super expensive its going to be alot easy'r to tell where your money has went because they sound even better

The quest speakers will be great no matter where your going to stick em although its recomended you pull them out from the wall and give them room to breathe. Try find out how good the panels are and how old, A good way to tell is to listen to the cone and panel and if there is a big diff it usually means the panels old as it wont play very loud or cranck the **** out of them and try listen for that infamous panel popping. The panel will giove you a popping sound when there is lots of bass and it cant handle it because the panels are shot. I say for the price you paid you could easily buy new panels later on and really get the worth and magic

I haven't bought them yet. I have to make a decision by the morning. I'm not to worried about damage to them considering who the owner is and I'm not planning on listening to them super loud as they would be in my bedroom rig. I've wanted a pair of electrostats ever since I was a kid and my buddys dad had a pair. Ive been envious for pretty much 20 years. These would be replacing b&w DM601's (bookshelf on stands). They would pretty much bring my bedroom setup from kinda awesome to pretty rediculous. I want them but I'm not sure about it. Thanks for the input and I hope a few others can help me with this decision. Thanks.
