It is really an amazing thing how we feel about our systems.
My system 2 years ago, would not cut it now.
There are 2 types of audiophiles.
People who build a killer system once.
And people who never stop building.
The latter is called a "hobbyist".
I am in the latter category.
    Pretty sure you are also:cheesygrin:.

I sure try to be. My stupid wallet gets in the way sometimes lol. i am tweaking stuff on a daily basis though. Today I built a thing (if i told you before I finished it I'd have to kill you) that raised my center about 6 inches.

Put Adele in the living room I tell ya'! She was over by the fish tank before.

I think this may have alot to do with the heated cable threads.
There is a difference between the two.

Because we can. Because sometime it is useful to see another person's gear posted so when you attempt to glean information you may actually find someone who has the answers to your questions.

Ownership of quality gear doesn't always relate to quality advice.

Maybe a little like asking the owner of a Maybach about the merits of a 1999 Daewoo Leganza for a first car. May get some good advise and maybe not, may get some advise on old cars and may get advise on how to get a fine car, you just don't know until you ask and carefully review the advise.

I got tired of my large sig and just decided to keep the information in the showcase if anyone wanted to see.

I do agree that longer signatures are lame. We do have a system showcase, a link to that should be sufficient. If not, that's fine if you want to list all your gear, but each piece of gear shouldn't get it's own line if it's 10+ pieces.

If anyone's signature is taking up half a page, it's time for you to upgrade your computer monitor to one whose resolution is higher than that of an NTSC television.

I am mostly poking fun but some of them get out of hand. I love the boys at thecarversite but have you seen some of their sigs? Like a full page long to say "+1" LOL.

It helps sometimes to see that someone either has or is using a piece you might be discussing. Most of the time I toggle them off but its fun to check them now and again. I especially like the colored ones. They are an assault on my eyes LOL.

No It's not that serious. If it was I wouldn't have a sig myself.

I have learned a lot about different manufacturers of gear and different approaches to systems by reading through people's sigs. I put my gear in my sig so someone else can hopefully learn something.

I don't believe yours is one of the signatures that needs pruning, especially since you used a smaller font.

Anytime Skip, just give me a shout. Your always welcome out here. It is a bit of an expedition from where you live. When you had the gathering I think it took me just under 90 minutes to get there. While that isn't really that far, it still is far enough you have to plan for as I don't think most would describe a 3 hour round trip as quick.

I have to say I am not surprised that this was turned into a "I have no sense of humor so I am going to be Mr. Iodine defficiant-ultra constipated audio geek and accuse the OP of bitching" when really all the OP was doing was making a joke. Nothing more.

In reality all the folks that jacked open the text size for their sig did me a favor. Now If I speak to them I can see what they are running with out adjusting the magnifier or having to squint. Hats off to you folks :)

Isn't it funny when people sign their post 1C? What's that? Are you trying to be like Prince? Why not use your name? If you did it in color it might be cooler?

Yes, this is a joke. I am kidding and poking fun.

I couldn't care less what people put in their signature or how they sign threads. I don't read them 90% of the time anyway!!!! :-)
