I have a chance on purchasing some Lsi M 707's. Right now I'm using Rti 12's . Is there anyone on here that is using the 707's .... If so how are they?
Also I can get two sets at a very good price if anyone is interested in getting a pair.

I am also looking into a new set of speakers for 2 ch listening as I am ready for something more substantial than the Martin Logan source I have. Would you share the best prices you have found for the new LSIM series?

Out of curiosity where? It doesn't seem like many places are carrying these yet. Online is more or less just crutchfield and locally I've got nothing. Frys still just has the older LSi's.

That onliner retailer is not an authorized Polk Audio seller.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I am still curious with the 705, not a single write-up or review that I can find. Did you audition 705 before you get your 707, bslep?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I'm sorry your comment is not correct. They are not an online retailer. They are a brick and morter store that IS an authorized Polk Audio Seller. I confirmed this directly with Polk Support before buying. Per Polk, you have to either place the order by phone or visit their store.

I'm just going by my list which can certainly change from time to time. I'll just double check on Monday.

Think you've been reading to many articles. Polk is world wide. I'm sure they are mass producted as every set is the same.

Safe & Sound and Safe and Sound HQ are authorized Polk Audio dealers, within their regional/geographic areas only. They can only take phone orders for their respective areas. For example, you can't live in Maryland and purchase Polk loudspeakers from them. They cannot sell anything online either.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion with the recommendation of the business by Bslep and my comment regarding whether they are an authorized dealer. They are authorized, for their respective states only.

Any idea when the "where to buy" link will allow you to search for the LSiM's? All the stores near me which list the LSi's still only have the older LSi's.

Or more generally, when will the LSiM's be more widely available?

Unfortunatly because of the economy I don't think a lot of stores will be stocking the Lsim's to demo. Think things will need to turn around before they will stock higher end gear, let alone demo them

Guys, please take time to post your reviews of these speakers. Hardly anyone comments about 707 actual sound. Also note what you are comparing them to.

This should be addressed and more easily determined when the website changes occur. I'm not exactly sure when thats going to happen but know it's coming soon. The dealer and search functions are greatly enhanced and models are clearly identified as to where you can purchase them.

I should be getting mine in about 3 weeks to a month. I will be comparing them to Rti12's. Running them on a Onkyo Ht-RC 370 receiver and a Emotiva XPA 5 amp. Really can't wait to hear these speakers!!!!

I posted my initial impressions awhile ago:

polkatese: first of all, love the handle! I have the 706C along with the 707's and the 702 F/X surrounds in a 7.1 system. I've had the system for about a month now recently adding the 702's. I replaced a Def Tech Mythos system that included the ST's, Mythos Ten and Gem XL's. I cannot give any comparisons' to the LSiC, but I can tell you that the 706C is a significant upgrade from the Mythos Ten, which I think is a very good center channel. The 706C is pretty close to a full range speaker as Audyssey set the crossover at 40Hz. I am impressed with the deep, rich sound and especially the clarity of the dialogue. When the dialogue is a whisper you are not straining to hear it. I am very pleased with the whole system. Again, I can't compare to other Polk products, so I'm not too much help to you. But I will say that my system now has a clarity and dynamic rich presentation that it did not have with the Def Techs. Two channel music and surround tracks are equally impressive. I thought the strength of the Def Techs was its surround presentation. My system now easily surpasses it in resolution, depth and soundstage. It has a "reality" that was missing before. It's especially noticeable with the ambient sounds coming from the surrounds. BTW, Audyssey set my surrounds at 45Hz (side) and 70Hz (back) respectively. The 702's are some pretty hefty surrounds. My friend owns the PSB Synchrony One's and before that had the Revel Salons and in my opinion the 707's are better than the Synchrony One's and hold their own with the Revels. I think they are that good. Of course our rooms and set ups are different and need to be taken into consideration. He has a four wall dedicated HT room that is not acoustically friendly in my opinion. I have my set up in a large room (24 x 28) with a two story open ceiling. In any event, the Polk LSiM's are a system that compete's nicely with the high end audio market. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the LSiM's to anyone looking at PSB, Ariel, Energy, Paradigm, etc. Even Revel for that matter.

Yea, those speakers are beasts. I had them in-house for few days when they were going around in Dallas. Very detailed, unlimited power capability. They just laughed as I threw more power their way. To top it off, they're a great looking speaker. I actually caught a small case of upgraditis. Thankfully, it went away after the speakers left.
