Guys,

I recently purchased several of these cables to accompany my new conditioner. After handling them and using them in my system, I can't give them a higher recommendation. In the interest of brevity, the cables are incredibly flexible. You would have no issue snaking them around the most complex of setups. The build quality is exceptional.

I've been experimenting with my tried and true Signal Cable Magic Power Cords, Pangea 9 and 9SEs and the BPT L-9C. IMHO, the Pangea 9SE is a nice cable, but not worth the up charge from the 9. The Pangea 9 sounds the same as the 9SE in my system. I think the Pangea 9 sounds better than the Signal Cable, but not good enough for me to keep the cable and stop looking for a better upgrade. Pangea cables were returned.

Enter the L-9C. Better extension, better bass, darker blacks, smoother, nice attack were all comments that I wrote down while listening with the BPT cable. These were no small changes. Swapping the Signal Cable back out and my system instantly became less exciting and involving. The Signal Cable was clearly inferior to the BPT L-9C.

If you need a solid cable that represents a real upgrade from the wonderful Signal Cable, try BPT. You won't be disappointed.

Mike

Are the 3 pc's mentioned pretty close in price?
I have read some good reviews of the BPT L-9C in the past, and if I remember correctly, they where pretty reasonably priced.

No, the L-9C is a $499 cable. I bought mine used for $300 a piece. It sounds like a lot, but I'm at that point where the big tweaking is done.

BPT also makes a C-9 power cord for $199 that uses the same cable but different connectors. I was thinking of buying one of these to test, but haven't yet.

The price of the BPT really demonstrates what you need to spend to do significantly better than the Signal Cable based on my experience. I was attracted to BPT because many characterized the company as a high value brand like Signal Cable.

Glad you like your PC Mike, I'm sure it's rock solid.

As for the Magic pc, Pepster made me one that simply out classes the magic pc. I believe there are options that offer significant improvements over the Magic for not alot of coin. Obviously some, such as yours Mike are on a different playing field though. Congrats anyway, enjoy the tunes.

Can you or Pepster share a good recipe for power cords?

I don't make 'em, I just buy 'em. Pepster makes some nice ones though. I'm sure they may not be up to a 600 buck PC standards but they are definately an improvement over the Magic PC. Send him a PM, maybe he'll send you some of that special pixie dust he uses.
