I was checking out your killer equipment on the system showcase and I was blown away to the nicely placed Cradle Of Filth and Tristania cd's. Two of my faverate groups. Get me thinking with that reverse CoF in the off topic - I'm still freaked out. The back ground and song name was real Cradle but was that for real backwards. Ya think! Any was big fan of CoF - I have seen them twice including Ozfest this year. Have some CD's and DVD's signed. What else ya like. Have a US contact that gets me newly released over seas stuff cheap. Check out Napalm Records site.
Groups I like:
Siebenburgen
Sins Of Thy Beloved
Theater Of Tragedy
Opeth
Devlin
too name a few!
Anyway just had to give you some REAL music love. :D

Props to you too Scott:)! Looks like we have similar taste in music. That's the Tristania vinyl on the floor. I also got Cradle's "Damnation and a Day" on vinyl and Nightwish's "Century Child".

Cradle of Filth played here on Aug 12 of this year. I was too lazy to check tour dates and I missed the show along with an autograph signing:(. I was very pissed. I saw them 2 years ago. Immortal's audograph signing was cancelled back in April because of SARS but the show still went on(Metal Gods Tour 2003). It was amazing. It was a head banging night at the Opera House.

Not too sure about the Cradle song played backwards....I mean, there's really no need for subliminal messages when it comes to Cradle or other extreme metal bands. They get straight to the point on Satan, death, necrophelia, etc without having to play the record backwards.

What do you think about Cradle's production of their newer releases? I think it's getting worse. "Cruelty and the Beast" and "Midian" sound great but "Damnation and a Day" is too weak. IMO, the production on "Vempire" is the heaviest.

Incase you don't know, Morten Veland left Tristania and started a band called "Sirenia" under Napalm Records. It's a much more melodic version of Tristania. A must have for all Tristania fans. They sure don't sound as sad without the sexy Vibeke Stene though.

Since you like gothic bands like Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania, The Sins of Thy Beloved, etc, have you heard Trail of Tears? They're just awesome, I recommend their album "Profoundemonium" first though.
Therion is also another great band. Metal with a real orchestra and choir.
Nightwish is my favorite for that kind of metal though. Myriad is also very good. Very gothic with great clean and harsh vocals.

Did you pick up the new Dimmu Borgir? It's their best album IMO. Very brutal and magical at the same time.

Some other bands I really like are: Immortal, Amon Amarth, Nightwish, Kamelot, Lacuna Coil, Carpathian Forest, Blood Red Throne and Abyssos. I listed most of the band I listen to the last time we talked somewhere on this forum. I'll find the link and post it here.

I see you're really into gothic metal. What other black, death, power metal bands do you listen to?

Nice to hear from a fellow Black Metal Head. We are a rare breed - anything but sheep.
Good call on the Trail of Tears album - own it.

Cruelty and the Beast is legendary Cradle at thier prime.

Dimmu Borgir - really liked the last cd (Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia) want the new one but my local music store is killing me on prices.
Have not been buying much lately - other than the new Six Feet Under cd/dvd (lyricly awesome but not too much on the sound - standard SFU)

    other to mention
    Carcass - old school
    Old Man's Child
    Grave
    Obituary
    SoulFly
    Mortiis
    Mactatus
List more later - Gotta go to bed!!!!!!! Later

Oh yeah, here's my post I typed up a while back about the other bands I listen to. I don't think you saw this one. It's on the last post of the thread.
