There used to be a chart for matching vintage speakers with subwoofers and I can't find it. Anyone know where to find it? Or do you know what best goes with RTA11TL's? Thanks

Maybe the chart was for Center channel to RTA11tl's. Both recomendations would be appriciated.

Don't really need to match a sub. That has more to do with budget, room size, listening habits, etc. For a center look for a CS350LS or a 400i for the best timbre match.

    Found it!

Looks like PSW650 (2005) for the sub

There have been a few different recommendations for the centers
    CS400i (2005)
    CSi5
    CSiA6 (2010)
The center recommendations may assume that you still have the original tweeters and have not swapped them for the RDO's.

Why would you need a sub for them? Exaggerated bass??

Care to explain, "it's what you do, right?" I don't see that as "what you do".

For 2 channel duty it's not at all necessary if you run the proper gear. Of course this is just my opinion.

I was playing with positioning mt RTA11TL's tonight and doing some critical listening and came to the conclusion that these things really do fine without a sub. They dig deep and have a very good balance. Now depending on the type of music or HT, you may desire a sub to emphasize the bass. I wonder how well it would blend though having the bass emitting from different sources.

What are you driving them with? The amp (receiver) can make a difference. Also, the distance from the walls makes quite a difference in bass response.

H9 is right. Do YOU think they need more base or are you looking at what others are doing?
I've got a Cayin AT50 on loan and with all the improvements made lately the bass is the best it's ever been.

Need to answer the questions about your components and room setup that others have ask so we can help more.

There are many op,s on using subs for 2 channel, im in the old school where when subs were invented it was for HT, now if you want accurate sound, like tight quick bass good imageing, and tight soundstage, you simply bloat it with a sub, just my op, i mean if all you want is big bass sound in 2 channel, go for it, its your money, and taste.

I just added this info on my rta11tl thread but thought it was relavent enough to repeat here.

I added the hurricane nuts last night and have noticed an increase in bass out put and clarity to the point I needed to reposition them.

So I would reccomend you wait until you have done your refurb before you look at anything else.

I use this mostly for HT. I'm looking into getting a Pioneer Elite receiver maybe SC 55 (more watts), though I haven't made up my mind yet. I have this in an apartment upstairs and I thought the sub would bring out the bass more without having to crank the volume.
    This is what I have so far;
    Harman Kardon DPR 1005 Receiver
    Polk RTA 11TL Tower Speakers
    Polk RT25i Satelite Speakers

OK, here's the latest. I bought the RDO 198 for the RTA11TL's and installed them. I bought the Sonic caps and Mills resistor. Haven't got around to trying to solder them in yet. Bought the CS400i center (boy is that a big center speaker) and it does match the 11TL's better. Do the surrounds have to timber match also? I have these right now Polk RT25i Satelite Speakers. Also I'm trying to pull the trigger on a new AVR, looking at the Pioneer SC-05 and SC-25. I found both NOS demo's for $750 or less, any opinions?

The timbre match on the surrounds isn't as critical as the front three. I would suggest something that can use the rd-0198 like monitor 5jr's or monitor 4.6's. They come with similar mids and use the sl2500 so the timbre match would be closest with them.
