Config suggestions requested...

I searched the archives but didn't really find a specific answer to my question.
My setup:
Onkyo TX-DS787
Rti8s (soon to arrive)
csi40
fxi30
PSW350 sub
My question:
Does anyone know (or have a similar setup) what the Onkyo crossover freq. is at small vs larger speaker configs?
I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go line out to the sub or wire my RTi's through the sub....will the two different bass mgmt. systems conflict using my Onkyo's pre-out sub connection?
any hints or "been there done that" notes appreciated.......

Hey - nice receiver. I have that one in my living room setup.
Anyway my advice is to keep it simple.
*Buy a quality bass cable
*Use the sub out on your Onkyo
*Set sub to YES and all speaks to small
*Calibrate and enjoy - easy -
With speakers set to large, there is no crossover frequecy, set to small it is probably around 80-120Hz. Contact Onkyo for more specific info if someone else doesn't know. I suggest using sub line out and follow scotts advice.Graham

I have a similar setup, if you want the sub to be on while you listen to the radio, then don't use LFE. Also doc has some good posts about the benefits of using the LFE. It just depends on how you want to listen to different sources. I don't use the LFE because I want the sub to run with all sources.
***edit. I need to look at my Onkyo owner's manual again, there may be a way to use it for all sources according to dorkusai -
PT,
Yes, take a look. You may be confusing sub-out and LFE. LFE is added DVD info that is decoded and routed to the sub, if you tell your AVR you have one. Bass info should flow to your sub regardless of the presense of an LFE signal.
FM radio has little bass info and is the likely reason for not hearing the sub. Plus if your sub is auto-on, the info can be so low that it shuts off.More later,

PolkThug, see my reply to you on the other thread also. As long as you use the regular stereo mode for radio or other 2-channel sources there's no problem with the sub getting whatever low bass is there when the LFE input is used. If you use the direct or pure modes for those sources on your Onkyo the sub gets no bass.

a bell rang...
we now have digital fm & am. I have failed to understand their direction. With digital fm I would like to know why they did not fill in the audio spectrum that has been suppressed since the beginning? Instead they have re-invented the wheel and its not that much more effiicient!
sorry for the hijack
