Seriously. They are totally serious.

If you think this gem of wisdom is a lark, you should read more of the stories on Lifehacker. I applaud the attempts at ingenuity and thinking "outside the box" but alot of stuff they do is just short cuts to get around fixing it right.

It reminds me of the guy driving the old Dodge Polara with a coat hanger antenna, vice grips holding the muffler up, red cellophane tape over the hole in the taillight and 4 different tires with one wheel being bigger than the other 3.

$18 for the pair. All the "materials" they need to do it the half-assed way probably cost more than those replacements plus shipping and sales tax.
