Howdy all,

Some years back I assembled a set of RT800i, CS275 and LSf/x speakers. Fast foward to January 2012, and we just got a new entertainment cabinet. Wayall.... the CS275 doesn't fit in the center shelves! It's about an inch too wide.

So.. what to replace it with? I'm not familiar with the current product line... is there something that's 16.5" (or less) wide and would match well with the RG800i and LSf/x?

Thank you!
Andrew

    Welcome to CP!

The short answer is no, not an exact match that is made to be a center. However, an rt25i or rt35i would both match perfectly as the have the same tweeter and woofer as the 800i. (I have run several different bookshelf speakers on their side as a center and have never noticed any problems, and I like them better because that way I can have all three fronts with an exact tonal match.) These do come up an ebay in singles every so often, but the better bet is to buy a pair and save one as a backup or use it as a rear center.
    Good luck!

I have an old cs245i, but it measures 16.75" (So close, and a decent center with the tri-laminate tweeter)

There are a ton of cs175i centers that always show up on eBay, sometimes even new in the box. They go for about $50-$75 or so from what I've seen.
    AVR - Yamaha Aventage RX-A800
    Amps - B&K Components ST2140 (for mains) and Parasound HCA-1000A (bi-amping center)
    Mains - RT1000i Towers
    Center - CS400i
    Sub - BIC Acoustech PL200

My neighbors listen to very good music, whether they like it or not

    Thread bump!

How would the Blackstone TL1 fit with my gear? It looks like it'll fit nicely in the hole in the cabinet.

Won't match at all. Better to get one to fit...

Shave half an inch off both sides of the speaker. Since it's in the cabinet you won't even see the bare wood. The sides should be thick enough that it still has wood on the sides. It won't change the sound either.
