So I was smash and grabbed this past week and my stereo was crowbar'd from my dash....****.

I have to get a new deck but the Pioneer Premier line is dead and I don't like any of what's currently out by them.

So I've gone with a Kenwood Excelon model something-995....any thoughts on that thing?

In my head Kenwood seems on the lower end but I've heard from several people that their Excelon line is pretty well reviewed....

Wow, so sorry to hear that. As for head units, I like Kenwood. I have an Excelon DNX8120 that I've been using for years, and it works very well.

I have the x595 and it has treated me well. I think most headunits from Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion, and Pioneer are all about the same quality wise inside. The only standout units I see right now are the two top pioneers, p80PRS and the p99, as far as internal components. With the Kenwood you have 4V preout and the ability to disable the internal amp which are both good features for clean sound.

Kenwood makes excellent head units. Their Excelon series is superb so you made the right choice. I would run them in a completion system without hesitation. We have taught you well.

    Sorry to hear that.

I've recently been hearing of more and more home break-ins and car vandalisms per month than used to happen in a year or more.

Hopefully the **** will open the wrong door one day and things will shake out in the property owner's favor.
