Looks very good! I'm sure it sounds good as well. Those Mundorf caps are very good, and with the Sonicaps it makes it even greater.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Yeah, it is a "double pleasure" to build your own amp. first: you choose the quality of the parts you want to use and second is the feeling to know that it is "unique". it feels good!!!

Is that peel and stick adhesive on the bottom of those filter cap?If so thats an interesting way of keeping a two pin cap stable when PC board mounting.

    He recommends it

Scroll down a bit and he explains it. I think it's a nice, simple idea.

yes it is. the Mundorf came like that from company! But since I did the top of capacitors on the chassis, I had to put silicone to hold them (stronger).
I find it very clever but "only" for those "big and wide" caps. I do not think it will do much on the small and slim caps.

I believe it. I recapped my am and preamp a couple of months ago - the filter caps. Still sounded dull. I then got off my billfold and replaced the filter caps and that change created a much better sounding system. Tighter bass as you explained but also more musical. Just brought my amp back to life.

What I noticed Before upgrade the caps, the dc offset was at 6mV L and 7mV R. I had to bring it down to 00.4mv in each channel. I also had to adjust the bias.
