Anyone wall mounting an RTi A1 using the supplied key hole?

Seems to me to be a bit weak for a one screw mounting point.

I am planning on moving one of my pairs of A1s up front for front height duty and adding in walls for the rear surrounds and keeping the other pair of A1s as side surround.

I read the RC85i is timber matched to the RTi line, anyone using these as rears? My couch is against the wall so my sides and rears are very close at the ends of the couch.

I have the FXi A6's and use the integrated key hole. They have been up almost 2years and no problems. The weight is about one or two lbs more than the A1's.You should be fine.

You're right, the key hole could be a problem. I was looking into an "L" bracket out of wood, about 4" wide at the bottom for the speaker to sit on, then up the back about 12", also 4" wide so you have a nice solid platform for the speaker to actually sit on. This "L" bracket must be jointed/braced where the two pieces meet and then the entire bracket is screwed to the wall. At this point use the key hole for support and guidance with a screw into the back of the "L" bracket. I wish I could draw you a picture. Good luck.
