My latest insane SACD find!

Today I found a used copy, mint condition of the stereo SACD of Peter Gabriel US from my local FYE store for a whopping $3.99 after a buy one get one 1/2 off used CD sale. Yes, this means the normal normal price was $7.99!! As the title says insane! By far the best deal I've gotten on a SACD (or CD) in a long long time. This SACD is the single layer SACD, not the hybrid. This SACD normally goes for anywhere between $70.00 up to $120.00!! I was driving by my local FYE store today on the way home from the gym and got the feeling I should stop at the store and look around. I looked at the classical section for some Motzart, then the rock section and Van Halen's 1984, then the Peter Gabriel section. I looked through the CD's and noticed the "remastered" US cover in the CD's. I looked at the cover and it looked like the normal CD. Then I noticed the back cover through the case had teo notches in it. I jokeingly (to myself) looked at the back side and said, "it's probably the SACD" as US is the only SACD I had planned on getting by Peter Gabriel and did not have yet. I looked at the back cober and saw DSD-mastered and the SACD logo and then looked at the price ($7.99)!!!! I grabbed a Supertranp best of for the same price and got half off of the Peter Gabriel SACD for a total of $3.99 for the SACD!! Now that's a good deal!!:cheesygrin::cheesygrin: I need to follow those intuitive feelings all the time to see what other deals I can get!! Just had to share my good fortune with you all! Thanks for reading!

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Great find, congrats! I too have found several good SACDs cheap at my local FYE store. Good thing they don't know the value of some of the used media they take in...
Keep this on the down low, we wouldn't want them to actually have a clue. -
Therein lies part of the magic of a bricks and mortar record store. I've snagged a few SACD, DSD, and hi rez recordings at the local place for under $10. Seems they go purely by title to price rather then catalog number.Wristwatch--->Crisco

Congrats on a great find!
I can't wait till one day when I go to Good Will and walk over to the cd rack and find a couple dozen SACD's. They charge 1.00 a piece for cd's.
It's going to happen for somebody some day. Good Luck to us all. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Are these FYE stores a chain store like Tower Records once was? I wonder if there are any in the Chicago land area, if so I will have to check one of those stores out. Sounds like ya scored big time Greg!Home Theater

Yes, they are a chain store. They are located online as well at www.fye.com so you can see if there is a local store near you. The one in Salem often has some pretty decent used CDs for sale. Not necessarily as cheap as the Gabriel "US' SACD. Also, a few weeks ago I found the MFSL Moody Blues "On the Threashold of a Dream" gold CD and Eric Clapton's "Just One Night" gold CD. I already had the Moody Blues CD, but not the Clapton one. This was all in the past month. Worth checking out the stores near you, potentially.
