Funny thing, Buddy Holly started the whole rock and roll genre almost single-handedly. Amazing quantity and quality for someone who died so early.

Which CD's should I get? For sound quality?

I have a best of Buddy Holly two CD collection, and the 20th Century Masters I think NAP is referring to. The former is my preference just b/c it has more music. The sound quality varies according to where/when the recordings were made. Some of the tunes are surprisingly clear and clean, others sound like they were recorded in his bedroom.

    The music is great though.

This collection has the same songs as the first one I listed, but reviewers think the sq is better:

Did you know that the Beatles were so taken by his music that they named themselves after the Crickets, his band? Of course with John's clever spelling.

The one mastered by Steve Hoffman. I'm away from home at the moment so I cannot go pull it from the rack, but it's the only one to have.

Hmmmm, I'd be interested too in knowing the Hoffman mastered one. Thanks for looking it up for us. Buddy Holly's music is phenominal! One of the greatest artists of all time.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
