I'm thinking if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

3.Per the request from the studios, the ISO file playback function has been removed in this firmware version. The previous firmware had the ability to play ISO files, but it was an undocumented function and was never officially announced or supported. Future firmware version will no longer support ISO playback.

ISO is just a disk image format. So you can just burn it to CD/DVD.

LOL. Exactly. It's like a zipped file, which you just dump onto a disc, or there are tons of free software titles that will convert it for you to any other video format.

That is true, but thought it heeded a warning. I myself actually keep things in an ISO format. I used to keep discs around, but founf it was easier just burn the ISO if I needed to have the physical inventory. Now I barely even do that, I just mount the image itself if it's software.

This is potentially like them saying "eh - we aren't supporting FLAC anymore. Just convert it to something else, no biggie"

Can you post a link to the original article?

    Thanks!

I read through the 83 update, and it appears the 83's must not support DLNA? I'm not seeing that same excerpt.

This is a beta release, but it will eventually be released as a standard upgrade (don't want anyone thinking I'm pulling the wool over their eyes about a beta release)

I am one of those who recently purchased an Oppo player. I usually play back Blu-Ray movies on my player.

    Thanks for the heads up!!!
