Rotel RA-1062 Integrated Amp?

For my 2.1 setup, I am currently running two M70's and a Velodyne 10" sub off a HK avr-240. I don't feel like I am getting the most out of the speakers and I don't intend to add anymore speakers to the setup so I am considering an integrated amp. A few questions.

1) First and foremost, can I run the speakers solely off an integrated amp? Just source, amp and speakers? (I'm guessing a basic question, but I googled it for awhile and didn't find a super clear answer)

2) Is the Rotel RA-1062 a good deal at $395 (used, near mint, local guy). I mostly listen to vinyl.

3) Could I run the M70's and a sub off the amp?

Thanks for any advice.

Paul

I would like to help but I don't know much about that Rotel unit. I believe you can run your speakers off it as well as your sub. I would guess you would want a little more power however... maybe not.

Funny, I was checking my local Craigslist today and found that exact unit that someone is trying to sell. It was much cheaper than $395, but I saw that one went on the gon for $400 not too long ago.

My apologies, the one I saw on Craigslist was a lower model so the price thing may be accurate at $395

Thanks Chandler, one of the review I read was from a guy who was getting back into his vinyl collection and he loved it. Might not be enough to power the 70's, but I thought it might be better than the HK 7.1 that I am currently running.

Basically, I am looking for my best option for under $500 for primarily vinyl in my 2.1 setup.

Have you considered buying a decent pre and something like an Adcom GFA 545 or amp of that nature to power the 70's? I guess you could also just add an amp to that HK for starters if it has pre outs.

The HK has pre-outs. Would it work well to power the 70's with the 545, and the sub with the HK? Would adding the 545 significantly improve the sound coming from the 70's?

Ok...awesome. I see the 545 used a couple places for about $200. That sounds like a good piece to the puzzle until maybe a major upgrade at a later date.

I think that would be a relatively inexpensive way to upgrade your sound and see what your speakers can do.

You can always switch over to a dedicated pre when funds become available.
