Just a warning, I saw this in the theatre and it is a big stinking, steaming ****. Don't waste your hard earned money on it. Save it for the next few weeks...

Matrix, Indy, etc.

    Yeah, I bought the DVD.

Sorry to say, Sci-Fi\Alien freaks may love it. I didn't.

    STUPID BLIND PURCHASE!

But Best Buy had it in a HUGE display with Scarface. :(

LOL we've all been there man. I wish I'd got my warning out sooner. :(

I enjoy some sci-fi and aliens; but this one is just a straight out **** of a movie. I bet Stephen King hates his name is associated with it.

Edit- BTW How was the DD? I remember sitting in the theatre thinking it had some good use of the rears and pretty good bass too? That was the only thing I even came close to enjoying about it...

Very disappointing. Especially with such a strong cast.

I actually enjoyed the book. It was a very good read, and with all of King's books as of the last ten years, it all ties into the Gunslinger series. That is why I am really enjoying his books as of late. Insomnia tied in, the Regulators and Desperation, I even think Bag of Bones tied into the Gunslinger. Black House with Stephen and Peter Straub all had to do with the Gunslinger series.....in a very subtle way.

Does the movie go into it....well I highly doubt it, but I will check it out for the sheer rental part of it.

IMO, the only good movies based on SK novels are Shawshank Redemption and the Green Mile...all others (MAYBE with the exception of Stand by Me) are horrible...don't do the books justice.

Huge huge fan of the Gunslinger, I hope this isn't ruined if someone decides to make a flick out of it. I love how almost all his books tie into the Dark Tower on some level - quite a piece of work.
