CHEAP receivers

Due to unexpected financial difficulties I'm turning out to be a lot farther out from the "dream system" I posted about a month or so ago than I thought.
In the meantime, I've been moved into my new digs for two weeks and have six speakers just *sitting* there, waiting for something to power them. If I wait to buy a fairly good (Kenwood VR-7070) or good (HK AVR 325) receiver it'll be multiple months of listening to the TV speakers, and I just can't do that.
So, it's a toss-up between these three:
KLH R-5100 (320 watts overall max)
Pioneer VSX-D412 (260 watts overall max)
Yamaha HTR-5630 (210 watts overall max)
The KLH is the cheapest (99 bucks) but it's also the *cheapest* (garbagey components, it's not made in-house but instead made 'for' KLH who only make speakers). Then again, it owns the others in terms of true RMS power output (they're all "100w/channel" but that means absolutely jack).
I don't care for the styling of the Pioneer but the UL 260 watts average in is better powered then the Yamaha and it has more inputs for my stuff.
Finally the Yamaha has good sound but I'm not sure about the power on it.
My spending cap is 179.99 from a real store (Circuit City, Best Buy, Fry's) or 149.99 from an online retailer (e-discount-cheap-electronics-stuff.com). Which of these would you guys reccomend, or, are there other options out there I am not considering that will get me decent sound for a cheap cheap price?

That Yamaha will smoke both KLH and Pioneer. Great little receivers they are. I owned one for over a year, and took all my abuse and still kicks! Which means alot considering I play it loud So people say.....- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I have not heard the other two but the Yamaha gets my vote, Pioneer second. Dont you have an old stereo amp or something? If you do my advice is to hook that up until you can afford a good receiver. There is no point IMO to wasting money on something that will be replaced anyways, better to put that money towards a better receiver.
Edit: ignore wattage ratings, get what sounds good. My 40 wpc Harman is about 30 times better than my 100 wpc Sony was.Graham -
The simple test is to buy the one that weighs the most.

Dude.....tell ya hear and now. Yamaha will be the heaviest. It weighs in at an amazing 20+ pounds. The one I owned weighed 34.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Yah
Don't you love those recievers that have five channels at 100watt/channel. And they weigh as much as a $90 DVD player.
Who is shitting who? -
Reminds me of something Sony could pull off....
However my Pioneer Elite which costs 100 more than the Yamaha weighs an amazing 20 pounds LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However all I use it for is a preamp....no big deal.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
If I were you I'd check your local Circuit Citys to see if they have any Sherwood 5.1 receivers left. They are 100% discrete amplifiers which is great, and I HIGHLY doubt any of the other ones you mentioned use discrete amplification. I have one I bought about 3 months ago and it weighs easily 25 lb. and sounds terrific on my Polk RTi600s.

The Yamaha does Unless they changed that design, I think the entire HTR series does though.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

idk, i never tried to buy something with so little cash lol....um maybe look for used stuff at a local stereo shop? or just save the cash until u can get a semi decent receiver, it doesnt have to be B&K but like someone said before, why spend money on something that will ultimatly get replaced?

UPDATE: My Financial problems pretty much solved themselves this weekend, so I'm going to be getting a Kenwood VR-7070 towards the end of this month. No sound for the next three weeks, but I've waited this long it's no big deal :PTwist one. For DnB.
