Mine came with rubber pads on the bottom of the feet. I used the included spikes since I'm on carpet.

Mine also came with paded feet, therefore they sit on the feel they came with.

Spikes are always the better choice.

A better question is what should one look for in floor discs. Material? Brass seems most common, but a couple of places have aluminum and titanium. What about some kind of pad to go between the disc and the floor, should you use them? Are they just to protect the floor from getting scratched?

Yeah.. mine are free - that makes them better ;)

    Although those are very nice...

Has anyone ever put like felt or anything under their floor savers? Does this defeat the purpose?
