I have the SVS PC12-NSD and am very happy with it. The cylinder construction makes for a very manageable footprint and the looks are quite striking, people always ask what the h--- is that in the coner? I use mine for home theater so I won't comment on its musical side, for home theater - the thing is a beast you get true in room performance down to about 17 - 18 Hz with spl levels getting close to 110db (22 x 14 room), without any boomyness. The strange thing is when you feel the bass but you don't quite hear it because it is that low. You can't go wrong with an SVS sub.2-Channel System

but based from the specs also of sc2, it can go lower than the svs, 14hz, with an internal amp of 1250watts. thanks for your post but I would appreciate more if anyone or anybody who have experienced to feel and hear the 2 brands side by side.marantz sr8001,marantz cd5001,denon dn-850,pioneer dv-310,sony PS3

I checked the sc2 stats on their website and the one thing that is not mentioned is the db drop at 14Hz, the SVS site states that the response drop is -3db at 18Hz, (the true meaning of these specs can be kind of hard to pin down). Also the increased watts is needed in a sealed design like the sc2, the website also didn't mention continuous or peak watts, the SVS is continous. I will say this, when I was shopping for a sub I went to Best Buy and listened to everything they sold including the supercube 2 - not even close, the SVS blew everything Best Buy sold away.2-Channel System

You can't go by the published DefTech specs. They are very optimistic. Had a DefTech Powerfield 1500 years ago. Replaced it with an SVS PB12-Plus/2. Obviously the SVS crushes it in max output. But the low freq extension, on paper, is similiar. NOT! The SVS blew the DefTech out of the water in every way. Extention, bass quality & quantity.

Yeah take def tech specs with a grain of salt. I have an old pro sub 100, specs say it can get down to 18Hz.. yeah not even close. i would suggest auditioning the subs yourself.2 Mirage OMD-5's (burled Maple)
