I know you guys think I'm a royal pain in the **** or really trying to get it right by doing it the wrong way.
So again I rearranged my rack and it looks better but that was not the real reason. As before and on occassion I would get a horrendous gnd. hum that would be louder than some of my tunes. When I started to lable then unplugg everything all was ok w/ the world .Now I h/u analog rca to the Onkyo pre ok, then the 5 disc through the tuner section and fantastic,so now I h/u the 2 rca cords that I ran from my computer to the Yamaha audio 1 port and hum like the world was coming to an end. For now I 86d the RCAs and I'm totally thrilled w/ the new found silent 2-chl system that I thought I had. Now as for the computer goes you guys must know by now I'm beyond illiterate on this and the only way I did the h/u was to get a y splitter out of the headphone jack and it did work to a noisy point. On the lower line of the back of my Gateway I have 2rca ports red/white,2 f-connectors,and an orange port which may be for digital out. It does not have and optikal port so that's out. After goofing on me could you give me some ideas on how I can get i-net tunes into my Yamaha rx-v665 the distance is easy 40' w turns and a little slack.Go right ahead laugh your asses off but after your done advice would be gladly taken and this time very seriously adherd to.

First thing I would do is find out if that orange output is a digital one or not. If it is use a digital cable to connect it to a digital input on your receiver.
