I have an older DT sub: Powerfield 15", that is about 21 yrs. old. Great shape, as that it was only used for about 6mo. total.
How well would it blend in with KEF xq40's,Harman Kardon 990, room app. 14X14?

I would just try it out and see if it works well. It may just do fine.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves

Make sure it is calibrated properly before you render your final verdict. Once I calibrated my system it made a world of difference (especially in blending the sub).Shawn

+1
I would recommend calibrating the sub lower than the mains, i.e. if your test tones register 75dB for the front L/R channels, set the sub to 72-73dB for a nice blend. The RadioShack SPL Meter is not as sensitive in the lower region, so actually setting the sub lower equals a flat response.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves
