So last night I was looking at some SDA models on this link. And I notice it lists Monitor 14 and a Monitor 15t (Military) models. Google returned nothing of much use. Anyone got the skinny on these? Would love to see some pics.

You won't find anything on them. Something about top secret or National security issues. They could tell you but then you know what needs to happen next. Leave it alone. Enjoy your 1As and live a long and happy life.

There was a story I got from the gentleman (ZSP) who did much of the design work on the RTA15TL and who also did much of the mods to the the other TL speakers and series 2 Monitors. When deciding on a name for what became the RTA15TL they looked at RTA12_ but it could be confused with the old RTA12, while RTA13_ and RTA14_ had marketing issues due to superstitions surrounding numbers in certain foreign markets. They settled on RTA15T which had the SL-3000 but in keeping with the RTA8TL and 11TL, they changed it to RTA15TL.

It is possible that these obscure Monitor models are related to this chain of name changes. The RTA15TL and the Monitor 15T look to be produced around the same year with similar price. Recall that the old RTA12 and Monitor 12 were used interchangeably as seen in the schematic and the manual. I'll try to remember to ask if he recalls anything about them next time I see him.

Those were top secret military models were hanging under the helicopters playing "Ride of the Valkyries" in the movie Apocalypse Now.
