I am selling my CD player that has treated me extremely well for many years at this point - just changing directions in audio...

This unit is amazing, the sound quality, the black backgrounds (read no boise) - pin point imaging while retaining music quality is just amazing...

Physically it is perfect, I can find no blemishes of any kind...

This player sells for approximately $4,500 new and Klaus honors it with a warranty similar to Odyssey from my understanding...

Klaus used this as his own personal player when I purchased it from him back in 2010 but he described to me two issues the player was having...

Issue 1: The CD tray sometimes will not close all the way - the remedy to this is simply hold down the button while gently pressing on the cd tray - I have also had success just holding down the eject button when closing it.

Issue 2: Sometimes when playing a song the first 5 seconds will be distorted. I have owned this player a couple of years now and I have heard this issue maybe 5 times in 2 years and I listen to my system fairly regularly - particularly in the beginning of ownership, probably daily...

I have put this player beside Wadia, Shanling, Jolida and many others - there simply is no comparison to just how good this player is...

I have seen these go used for $3,600 in this condition (minus the issues at hand) and Klaus has an open offer on my end to ship this to Germany to have it fixed - I would just be out of it for a few months... it really has no bothered me enough to be without that long to have it fixed and once you drop it in your system you will see what I mean. Anything that sounds this good, glitches that do not affect sound quality will not bother you a bit...

Price $2650.00 includes shipping and paypal!

So, what direction are you going in?

Looks like a Philips VAM1202 transport, is that correct? Where's the tubes?

This thing does not need tubes brother... Most reviewers claim it sounds like vinyl... :)

This is what Symphonics site says about it -

CD player. Housing black - front panel 1 cm solid - 24-bit - like vibrato - with simple
Schlankerem power supply, power supply, and class A output stage. Sounded very natural-
    close to the record.

My understanding from Klaus is it is a philips - I think the plan was when sending it back to Symphonic Line was to potentially replace the transport or part of it.

It is my understanding the warranty is 20 years and transferable from me...

This is what they say about the vibrato -

Three versions: Vibrato - "The CD player"- Reference CD player Vibrato, color black, power supply inside. More than HiFi. Satisfaction. Cheerful, brutal, tender, open, luminous, strong, fast, correctly flowing like the original signal. Sounds like a very fine turntable, Stimulating realism of reproduction in space and time. Joy.

    Hey guys -

I am looking to replacing the transport myself, which seems to be fairly inexpensive to do -

The side of it says L1210S - any tips, I found the model Jesse mentioned above but not the one wrote on the side... thoughts?

There are many varitions of the VAM1202, so go with the complete model number on the sticker, which is on the back of the transport.

That number on the side doesn't matter.

Sure thing, bring it up. I wouldn't expect my hot rod Jolida to be close, but the kW will kill it.

    Update:

    After talking with Klaus -

I will be sending this player back to him and he is exchanging it with a player that does not have these issues at hand.

So - no for sale thread for now...
