New MIT cable burn in

I just received a pair of MIT CVT-2 IC's yesterday. While I was reading the instructions, it mentioned that

"If burning in interconnects only, your amplifier does not have to be turned on, just source components."

Essentially can I just hook them up an old CD player and just play music though it without going to my preamp?

and is this method recomended?

Thanks,

    Thanks,

You want to properly connect BOTH ends of the interconnects, turn on the source components, and generate a musical signal (play a CD, tune to an active FM station, etc.).

You don't need to turn the amplifier on unless you are burning in speaker interface cables also.

My question belongs in the electronic forum but didn't want to start a new thread. Would running my Jolida CDP on a loop all weekend damage the tubes?

If your ground is bad or you have a short somewhere else, you could have the problem of your current not having a place to go. When your current backs up you could fry a wire. Also, whatever machine you are using, if it uses a voltage regulator/recitifier or anything like that, a faulty one could fry a wire. That was the case with my motorcycle. Bad regulator fried a wire.

I've read all 5 of your contributions to the forum so far and none make sense. They read like something you excerpted from Wikipedia.
