Need more power!
Hey guys. I have recently purchased a pair of Rti 8's and I am running them off a HK AVR 247. 50W per channel. I would like more power. I am relatively new to all this and have no experience with amps. What would be some cost effective ways to deliver more watts to these speakers? Change AVR's or go with an amp? Thank in advance for the help!!

Welcome to the forum. Like ratster says, if your avr has pre-outs, you can add a power amp. If it doesn't, then you may consider upgrading your avr to something larger with more power and available pre-outs.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

If you have that AVR you have the ability to add an amp using the available preouts.
There are lots of nice amps to be had on the used market by B&K, Rotel, Adcom, Parasound and many others.
What are you looking to spend. -
I will probably just power the rti8s. I am going to order an csi5 center but I think 50 watts should be good with that...right? I would like to keep it under $500 but all the amps I have looked at are quite expensive. Dumb question.... Is there a difference between preamps and power amps? Thanks guys!!

I sent an email seeing if it was still avaliable. Any other options at or below that price point?

The one that Dskip linked would be just right. Also, since you're going to order a CSi5, that 3channel would be perfect.Living Room Monitor 60's*CS2*FXi A6's*VSX 21txh*BD-P1590
