I love Craig's List. Now there are two new bills set to disrupt free gift from Craig?

If you click onto CL and you will see a warning that Congress is set to pass a couple of bills to disrupt free commerce? Any input from my Polk friends?

I think the next generation will view these first couple decades of the internet as the "wild-west" days, where anything went, and they will think it was crazy. So get your fill of this free and unrestricted internet while you still can.

That image is unbearable to think about, given the reality of what happened, and has no bearing on the discussion at hand.

I don't care for the Fools on the Hill either, but we have the power to vote them out, and the freedom to stand against them in a free and open election if you choose that route. I don't like my rep, so I am involved at the local level to see him replaced.

It's going to take a good and decent moral people to fix this mess, and wishing for the mess to fix itself will not happen. The time has come to stand up peacefully and say no more, but in order to be heard, we need to stand together as one.

I know.... good luck on that.

I sort of agree John. But sometimes a drastic move is necessary to provoke change (i.e. cival war).
I was in no way saying anyone deserved it but if it had to happen I'd rather it went there then to the hard working folks footing the bill.

AND...I think it does have bearing...if the dip shi7's on capitol hill could pull it out long enough to get their nose out of things that aren't their business I feel this would have never happened including the most recent round of BS of trying to regulate someone having an online garage sale.

Find out where they stand and how they vote, then state how you want them to vote. Show them that you are paying attention. They hate that.

Guys, it's all about money. They float this crap out every year around election time. Do you think somebody will donate some coin to have them vote against/for it ? They play both sides against the middle and after taking everyones coin, in the end they do what they want anyway. Look at the pipeline deal, you have big oil donateing money for them to pass it, and the environmentalists passing coin to get them to not approve it. Whats the answer ? We are told a decision will come after the election.....so they can keep collecting donations from each side.

As far as the internet goes, I've said it before, once they gain control over it, then they can tax it. The pattern has a long history folks.....and it's bipartisan. Want another example....the healthcare bill. They spent a whole year debateing it, so they could refill the donations from both sides and in the end, they did what they wanted regardless if the majority of folks didn't want it. It's a game folks....and guess what ? ......you ain't in it.

    Changed for accuracy.

We have no rights anymore. We have squandered them away as our forefathers warned us we would. Liberty is a dead concept in this country unless we stand for our founding principles again. We need to start with a belief that All men are endowed by their Creator with certain "unailienable rights", and we must know what it means to pledge each other our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor.

This will be a long and bitter struggle, and it begins with our children knowing their history. They must know how freedom was won, and believe Liberty is an idea the is worth fighting for and dying to defend it is honorable. What happens over the next twenty years will determine if we will live as freemen or die as slaves. To our children will go the world we leave behind. Let's take the pain now, so they can be the first genreration in more than 50 years to breathe free.

I wouldn't go as far as to say we have no rights John, thats a stretch, but I will agree they are going by the wayside at a faster pace than before. Most never notice because it has always been a gradual slope, but recently that slippery slope has turned into a cliff. I also agree education plays an important role in all this but we are behind the 8 ball in that department seeing who controls the education process. Is it safe to say one rarely listened to advice from their parents as a child ? That hasn't changed today. Their friends, teachers, are more so enlightening than mom and dad who are old and don't know jack. Get me ?

You can't change things voting in November.
Registering for the Primaries and voting will be much more effective.
Both parties have been hijacked by extremists and are funded by
special interests. The real power in voting comes in picking the
    guys on the ballot.

To an extent, yes.....but you also have the press picking and choosing who's on the ballot....or should I say who's not on the ballot. The whole election process has been hijacked to some degree. How else can you have a prez without the majority.

Politics in general is funded by special interest. You as a home owner, who wants a tax deduction for your mortgage interest you pay, is considered a" special interest" group. Lets not get into the pot calling the kettle black here, anytime you or some other group wants a favor or relief from the government, you then become a special interest. I know that has become a dirty phrase of late, and is used for political means, but in reality, it's a necessity.
