Looking at monitor, older Rti models - quick question

Looking at purchasing either some monitor speakers or older rti models for a new ht setup. My only concern is the 'spikes' on the bottom of the speakers. Seem more prominent on the older rti models than those monitors.

With hardwood floors are these metal spikes going to pose a problem? What options do I have with floor cups or the like to protect the floor? Where can i find these protective cups?

Also what about the Lsi Speakers, they seem to have the screws sticking out the bottom of the baseplate?

Thanks

    Jeep, welcome to club polk!

You can improvise with anytype of cup or plate or coaster for the spikes. You can even change them out and put a wooden floor friendly foot print down.

LSi's I know nothing about, the Monitors have plastic feet and the the A9's have rubber feet with optional screw in spikes. That said, I would think maybe the older RTi series might have a screw out spike as pictured with the 12's.

Those RTi spikes are not metal, but plastic. I have them on laminate with no issue. I suppose they could make a dimple, but they shouldn't scratch. Not a point, but slightly rounded.

Thanks, these speakers are for my dad, looking for a more permanent sort of solution for the feet than just coasters.

So the feet on the old rti's (like the a8) are removable? Does polk sell replacements that are not spiked?

Yeah i got a wk, not exactly a rock crawling beast but it does seasonal use highways and snow like a champ.

I am looking at a mid-lower level denon receiver, yamaha cdc 697, paired polk fronts with a center, sub and dunno yet for surrounds. This is to replace an existing bose system.

I will be purchasing a pair of speakers for myself as well down the line, probably some monitor 70s off the direct audio site later this year.
